Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has been directed by the Islamabad High Court (IHC) to resolve the pending cases of all the people whose land has been acquired for the development of sectors, according to a news published in the leading newspaper on September 21.

CDA Chairman (retired) Captain Mohammad Usman and member estate appeared before the court and assured that the agency will reach out to the affected people at their doorsteps. IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah was of the opinion that it was a grave injustice that the landowners are still waiting for compensation. He directed the city managers to resolve the pending cases as soon as possible.

Moreover, the report submitted by the CDA mentioned that the CDA Chairman has ordered the member estate and officials of the Land and Rehabilitation Directorate to conduct a transparent and open ballot for the claims of the affectees. It was disclosed in the report that the issues of Sector E-12 affectees were being addressed as a priority. Also, the member estate has been tasked to visit the sector and other areas weekly. The officials will also provide on-site assistance to the affectees for conducting legal heirship, updating records, and fulfilling other codal formalities.
