ISLAMABAD: The CDA Wednesday took action against the increasing encroachment in G-10 Markaz and removed several stalls and kiosks. On directives of Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Farkhand Iqbal the Anti Encroachment department raided G-10 Markaz and removed encroachment from the bazaar.
The action was taken on complaints lodged by the residents of area because increasing encroachment was creating hurdles and inconvenience for visitors. Aliyan Khan, a resident, said the encroachers occupied the roads and footpaths, which were causing worst traffic mess and road accidents.
The pedestrians could not walk even on footpaths as stallholders had blocked them. Residents welcomed the drive but said that the CDA officials allowed some people to run business on footpath while taking money from them.
