Under the details, the plan aims to plant 10 million trees within the national park, spanning 39,000 acres. The project concept, ‘Enhancing Biodiversity and Green Cover by Managing Natural Resources, Maintenance, and Rehabilitation of Margalla Hills National Park Landscape,’ will be submitted for funding consideration in the upcoming fiscal year.
Over five years, the initiative seeks to enrich flora and fauna, mitigate climate change effects, and address environmental concerns such as diminishing green cover and water runoff. Key strategies include planting indigenous species, guarding hiring, checking dams, and water pond construction.
