Islamabad: The Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI) has questioned the Capital Development Authority (CDA) Board’s allocation of sector I-17 as medical city, according to a news report.
The ICCI has asked the CDA to revoke the decision and convert I-17 into an industrial sector. The ICCI President Amir Waheed said that this sector was acquired for the development of industrial estate, however, the CDA has decided and gone ahead with making it a medical city.
Waheed has said that allocating land for medical city is the need of the hour, but that it could be shifted to H-17, enabling sector I-17 to operate as an industrial sector. Commenting on this, the ICCI Senior Vice President Muhammad Naveed and Vice President Nisar Mirza have specified that the present industrial areas in Islamabad in I-9, I-10, and Kahuta industrial Estate have become saturated, because of which the CDA should make I-17 available for use as an industrial estate.
