Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has opened financial bids to procure 30 buses for the metro bus project from Peshawar Mor to New Islamabad Airport, according to news published on Thursday (November 18).

As per the details, the bids were open in the presence of Financial Evaluation Committee members and the three qualified bidders. CDA officials (whose names were not disclosed) stated that the Master Motors Corporation submitted a bid of PKR 29.8 million per bus whereas Foton and Auto Park submitted a bid of PKR 33 million for each bus. However, an international company – Higher Bus Company Limited – was the lowest bidder for the buses with PKR 728 million; PKR 24.2 million per bus.
Moreover, the lowest bid will be presented before the CDA management for final approval and after that, the order will be placed for buses. According to the CDA officials, the buses will be provided within four months.
Sharing details about the Airport Metro service, 24 buses will operate from Peshawar Mor to N5 bus station near G.T. Road while the remaining six buses will operate from N5 to the airport, having extra space for luggage. It was reported that corridors and stations of the metro track were already constructed while work on cleanliness, security, ticketing, and station management systems is to be completed soon.

It is pertinent to mention that the CDA took over the project in March 2021 from National Highway Authority on government orders. For this project, the government has reserved PKR 300 million in the fiscal year 2020-21.
