Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has formed an incentive-based policy to move hospitals, nurseries, schools, automobile workshops, and other businesses out of the residential areas in a bid to clear the unbridled commercial activities, according to news published on March 10.

The news source mentioned that the civic agency has devised a new policy for encouraging private businesses including schools, automobile workshops, nurseries, hostels, showrooms, and hospitals on nine major roads. The nine roads on which businesses will be relocated include Park Road (Zone 4 only), Lehtrar Road, Murree Road, IJP Road, Islamabad Highway, Grand Trunk Road (G.T Road) (Zone 2 & 5), Kahuta Road, and Fateh Jang Road.
According to the details, the CDA will waive the land use conversion fee from the land owners for setting up businesses as an incentive. The authority will instead charge a nominal annual fee to keep a regulatory check.

As per the details, the new proposed policy will be placed before the CDA board meeting for final approval. It was disclosed that the operators will be asked to gradually shift their businesses along the nine major roads and ensure high-quality standards in architecture, construction, and planning.
According to the new policy, four kanal of land for each will be required for setting up private schools and hospitals while two kanal of land for showrooms and one kanal for automobile workshops will be required.
