The decision was made at a review meeting of the CDA, which was presided over by CDA Chairman Noor ul Amin Mengal. He announced that the authority would launch a comprehensive campaign to prevent re-encroachment on retrieved land and expand green spaces throughout the capital. He said that the beautification of the city is one of the main objectives of the ongoing plantation drive, and the launch of an anti-encroachment operation in the city will help achieve this goal.

It is pertinent to mention that the CDA recently launched a massive anti-encroachment drive in the city to free public space from violations of the Right of Way (RoW) rule. The authority has so far conducted operations on major ‘marakaz’ throughout the city, removing roadside parking areas, bus stands, carts, and other businesses.
