Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA)’s Finance Wing gave a nod to releasing PKR 500 million for the Bhara Kahu Bypass project, according to news published in the leading newspaper on January 11.

As per the details, the work on the said project is accelerating at an expedited pace as the civic agency has been directed by the government to complete it by next month. The total estimated cost of the Bhara Kahu Bypass project is PKR 6.5 billion, out of which PKR 2.5 billion has been released. The authority has decided to release PKR 500 million for the construction of the project.
It is pertinent to note that so far, more than 60% of the construction work is completed, earthwork on the whole road is completed, and girders have been installed on the interchange. The news source revealed that 50% of work on the bridge and three underpasses has been carried out. Currently, work on the 1-kilometre long flyover portion is underway.

A CDA official (whose name was not disclosed) mentioned that all efforts are being made to complete the project within the next few months. He went on to say that the flyover portion is a little complicated and might take more time. It was mentioned that the authority requested to release PKR 3 billion, however, the finance wing approved PKR 500 million and assured that more funds will be provided in instalments in the coming weeks.
