Islamabad: On Wednesday, the Supreme Court ordered the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to remove all the garbage from all over the city of Islamabad immediately, a news source reported. The chairperson of the CDA, and the mayor of Islamabad, have been ordered to submit progress reports on the project within one month.

The orders were giving while the court was hearing the Bani Gala encroachment case. Justice Ijazul Ahsan said that the government must come up with affordable yet effective measures to solve the different problems facing the citizens today.

Justice Umar Ata Bandial asked about the dumping sites for garbage that were supposed to be set up by the CDA. The court asked the authority to pay attention to the sanitation systems in the city to ensure cleanliness around Islamabad. Judges were concerned that the city was growing dirtier by the day.
