Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) administration has launched operations against illegal and unapproved housing societies in Zones 3 and 4 of Islamabad, according to an announcement published on CDA’s official Facebook page.

As per the details shared, offices of the illegal housing schemes have been sealed in the first phase of the operation. Action is being taken against these societies for illegally buying and selling plots in violation of the provisions of the Capital Development Authority Ordinance 1960, ICT Zoning Regulation 1992, and ICT Building Control Regulation 2020. Apart from this, legal action under CDA Ordinance MLR 63, MLR 82, Environmental Protection 2008, including Landscape Ordinance 5/4, will also be enforced against the owners of illegal housing societies by the administration of the CDA.

The post further stated that the CDA management has repeatedly warned the public through newspaper advertisements to avoid buying plots in illegal housing schemes. The public has been warned to ensure that the society’s sponsors have fulfilled the required conditions and have obtained a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) from the CDA before making investments. In this regard, citizens can also check the latest status of housing societies and details of approved layout plans on the CDA’s website; www.cda.gov.pk.
