Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has opened bids for laying a storm drainage system in Sectors I-11/1 and I-11/2; with the lowest bid received – so far – being of PKR 61.08 million, a news source reported earlier today (July 6). The said figure is 24.26% lower than the estimated cost of the project.

According to the details available, the total NIT cost of the project was estimated to be PKR 80.645 million. The use of best practices and the competitive nature of the bidding process meant that the final bid was considerably lower than the estimated cost. The drainage system will now be installed at a cost of PKR 61.08 million.

The CDA has reinitiated development work in Sector I-11 in order to complete the construction and development work in the area that has been stalled for decades. As a result, the process to install a proper drain water system in order to get rid of storm water from the streets and roads of the sectors will finally be completed.
