Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has sanctioned four transformative projects to enhance Islamabad’s infrastructure, aesthetics, and functionality during its 71st Development Working Party (DWP) meeting. The news has been sourced from an article on January 2.

According to the details, a PKR 490.082 million project will upgrade and beautify Constitution Avenue, home to iconic landmarks such as Aiwan-e-Saddar, the Prime Minister’s Office, and Parliament House. The initiative aims to improve the avenue’s aesthetics and functionality, with completion expected within four months.
To address growing waste management challenges, the CDA approved the hiring of a consultancy firm to design a modern municipal solid waste management system. The consultancy, set to conclude in four months, will focus on reducing pollution and aligning with international environmental standards.
To elevate Islamabad’s appeal as a global destination, the CDA approved a feasibility study for developing five-star hotels. Over the next 12 months, consultants will explore joint venture and profit-sharing models, enhancing the city’s capacity for diplomatic, business, and tourism activities.

Addressing the outdated meat supply infrastructure, the CDA approved the development of a state-of-the-art slaughterhouse in Humak. The facility, spanning 15.75 acres, will provide hygienic, high-quality meat for Islamabad’s residents. Advisors will evaluate public-private partnership opportunities over the next year.
