The intended transferee will only be needed to file an affidavit under the new family transfer rules, and if there are any irregularities, he will be responsible for eliminating them within three months. Similarly, for property transfers involving non-family members, the NOC validity period has been increased from three months to one year to assist the transferee.
The said decisions were taken in a meeting presided over by Chairman CDA Captain (Retired) Muhammad Younas last week. The CDA will issue a formal notification in the coming days to streamline the process.

Moreover, the CDA issued additional directives to develop a framework permitting the transfer of old houses through the authority rather than through the registry. The new mechanism will allow the transfer of houses located in Sectors F-6, F-7, F-8, G-6, and G-7 to be made from CDA to the owners without the involvement of the revenue department. Previously, these houses were transferred from one owner to another through the revenue department. The owners of these houses have been trying to get their houses transferred from CDA, but the civic agency had no such mechanism in place.
