Islamabad: According to a news report, land in Rawal Lake Amusement Park was given away without any prior declaration. About a decade ago, Capital Development Authority had leased out about 40 kanals of commercial land to an ‘unknown’ company.
Recently, Supreme Court asked CDA to file a detailed report about the various lease agreements it has arranged for with several commercial parties for running different recreational facilities at Lake View Park. Malik Saleem, CDA Spokesperson has labelled this as a mysterious case, saying that the lease was cancelled in 2015, but a stay order for a local court was obtained.
CDA officials have said that on 2nd March 2018, CDA Chairman Usman Akhtar and Member Planning Asad Mehboob visited Lake View to get on-ground information, but nothing conclusive could be said.
