Islamabad – The Capital Development Authority (CDA) still remains undecided about eradicating 25 slums in the Federal Capital, as the ownership matters have not been settled between Federal Government and slum dwellers.
These Kachi Abadis have become a security threat for the capital and CDA has failed to present a long-term solution to this problem. To deal with the issue, a high level meeting was held at the headquarter of CDA. The meeting was chaired by Maroof Afzal, Chairman CDA and it was attended by various other officials of the authority. It was decided during the meeting that a joint strategy will be devised after consulting all the stakeholders.
On the other hand, the dwellers of Kachi Abadis have demanded adequate compensation if CDA wants them to leave their current abodes.
