The CDA’s planning wing has identified ten sites alongside the city’s two major roads, which will be reviewed and shortlisted by CDA Chairman Amer Ali Ahmed and a member planning. The CDA has already been selling land to cover the department’s development and non-development costs. The source reported that due to its over 16,000 employees (including 10,000 who have been shifted to the Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI)), the income generated in terms of property tax collections and conservancy charges has been deemed to be insufficient.
A CDA official revealed that after the CDA-MCI staff issues have been resolved, the development authority will be left with only 4,000 employees — which, in turn, is expected to lead to reduced expenses.
