Islamabad: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), developer of Metro Bus project, has hinted that the Capital Development Authority (CDA) is likely to bear the expenses of repairing the roads damaged due to the construction work being carried out on the Metro Bus project.
Project Director Mr Zahid Saeed had announced that the damaged roads would be restored under the project. However, in a recent letter written to the CDA, the RDA informed that the estimated cost of repairing the roads would amount to Rs 846 million.
The roads needing restoration include IJ Principal Road from 9th Avenue to Faizabad, service roads in Sectors H-9, I-8, and I-9 from underpass-1 on 9th Avenue to Faizabad, service road in Sector G-9 from F-8 intersection to Peshawar Road, Constitution Avenue and Jinnah Avenue.
According to a news source, the CDA officials fear that the authority will be required to completely rebuild a few roads, as the contractors will be reluctant to repair them.
