The park was given final approval during the 58th meeting of the CDA Development Working Party (DWP), which was presided over by Chairman Amir Ali Ahmad. The park has been given final approval following the removal of reservations raised by the Planning Commission (PC) of Pakistan over the location and the environmental impact. It is said that the park is essential for the protection of local flora and fauna of the Margalla Hills, which have been affected by the increasing population in the Margalla Hills.
Furthermore, during the same meeting, the CDA approved a PKR 7.2 billion budget for the development of the Islamabad Bus Service Project. The CDA will build eight additional bus routes in the city under the approved proposals.

It is vital to note that the CDA is actively trying to establish an effective public transportation infrastructure, which has been missing for decades. The city currently has four public transportation systems: the Blue and Green Line service, the Orange Metro Bus service, and the Islamabad-Rawalpindi Metro Bus service.
