Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) approved the construction of a new road linking Margalla Avenue with the Islamabad-Peshawar Motorway (M-1), according to news published on August 10.

This significant project, valued at PKR 5.45 billion, received the green light during a meeting chaired by CDA Chairman Noorul Amin Mengal at the CDA Development Working Party (DWP). The news source mentioned that the anticipated timeline for completion is 8 months.
As per the details, the project encompasses a six-lane road facility and includes the establishment of an interchange at N-5. The total cost for this venture, including the interchange scheme, is PKR 5,452.011 million.

A CDA official (whose name was not disclosed) stated that after the approval of the project’s PC-I, efforts will be directed towards obtaining the required land. The portions of land for construction are divided between Rawalpindi and Islamabad, with 1.8 kilometres in Rawalpindi and 1.6 kilometres in Islamabad. The CDA will be responsible for the construction of the Islamabad segment.
