Islamabad: In the wake of recent monsoon rain spells, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Tuesday launched repair work on the Islamabad Expressway, a news source reported. The authority’s administration directed the MPO Directorate to carry out the repair, maintenance, and patch work on the road.

According to the details shared, the Islamabad Expressway is one of the major arteries in the city – a sole way for the residents of various housing schemes to reach the main city. Sources added that the section of the expressway from Gulberg Interchange to GT Road at Rawat was in poor condition and caused troubles for daily commuters.
In this regard, the CDA administration instructed the MPO Directorate to start the repair and maintenance work on the expressway as well other roads in the city. So far, the directorate has carried out work on the Islamabad Expressway, the Kashmir Highway, the Faizabad Interchange, the IJP Road from Golra Mor to Saidpur Road, 9th Avenue Junction with IJP Road, Nazim-ud-Din Road Sector F-8, Service Road Sector I-10, Ibn-e-Sina Road Sector G-11, Constitution Avenue, and more areas.

The administration has also directed other CDA formations to facilitate MPO Directorate to prevent any delays in work. Additionally, it has instructed the Finance Wing to ensure the availability of all funds required.
