Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has introduced a helpline to swiftly tackle complaints about water accumulation caused by heavy rainfall in Islamabad, aiming to ease citizens’ inconveniences, as per a news article on April 16.

Pursuant to the details, this initiative follows the direction of the CDA Chairman Capt (retd) Anwar-ul-Haq. During recent heavy rainfall, CDA, MCI, and ICT teams promptly responded to complaints, ensuring water clearance on highways. Special measures were taken on highways to maintain traffic flow per CDA administration directives, preventing congestion.

Joint teams were deployed across CDA’s sectors, including housing societies and low-lying regions, offering assistance like dewatering pumps to drain water from residential areas. Staff holidays were cancelled, and duties were assigned in shifts to monitor low-lying areas closely amidst rainy conditions.
