Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has awarded the contract for the development works of the newly launched Sector E-12/4, news sources reported on March 9.

This sector will be the most recent addition to the federal capital’s current sectors. The CDA requested bids from suitable firms for the construction and civil engineering work in the demarcated area for Sector E-12/4. The lowest bid that was chosen quoted a rate of PKR 289.81 million.
As per the CDA spokesperson, the contractor firm will be responsible for laying a drainage system, water supply, sewerage network, the building linking roads, including major highways, street lighting installation, and other development activities.

Moreover, the work in the different sub-sectors of E-12 will continue as scheduled. Reportedly, the CDA invited bids from the competent firms in the first week of March, in which five companies participated. It is vital to recall that development work on Sector E-12 has been put on hold since its first launch in 1989. The CDA management has recently started development activities under the updated Islamabad Master Plan. The CDA held the first balloting of 162 residential plots in December of last year.
