Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Sunday (October 23) announced that the pending compensation issues of the landowners whose land has been acquired by the authority will be resolved on priority, according to news sources.

The authority acknowledged that landowners’ compensation has remained pending for several years, and those affectees are entitled to get plots or cash compensation. The CDA management has also announced that bogus and fake claims will be strictly refused, and legal action will be taken against those involved. It has been iterated that all cases will be given the same careful treatment. According to the sources, CDA Chairman (retired) Captain Mohammad Usman Younis has issued instructions for ‘all-out efforts to resolve all citizens’ problems, especially the landowners of the capital.
The authority has also maintained that the rehabilitation process for the city will also be resumed, and steps will be taken to announce the Built-up Property (BuP) awards soon for the remaining sectors. It was highlighted that the CDA chairman recently visited various parts of the city and chaired ‘khuli kutcheries’ at the sites to understand citizens’ problems better and provide solutions to them at their doorsteps.

Moreover, the CDA chairman has directed member estate, deputy DG land and director land to visit parts of the city weekly to resolve people’s issues. Also, camps at various sites have been established in various parts of the city to address the concerns of the affectees, including on-spot correction of records.
