As part of the campaign, it issued 340 notices to approved housing societies situated in Zones 2, 4, and 5; intimating that the construction of unauthorised structures and nonconforming use of properties is a violation of the Islamabad Zoning & Building Regulations 2005.
The constructions in question include 214 commercial and 126 residential structures. According to a CDA spokesperson, implementation of the building by-laws in Islamabad would set a healthy precedent.
