Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has invited all stakeholders to weigh in on the environmental concerns – mentioned in an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) report – which may arise from any potential development work carried out in Sector I-15, according to an official notice issued by the authority. Sector I-15 is one of the previously stalled sectors of the city which is in the process of being taken up by the CDA for the initiation of development work.

The Pakistan Environmental Protection Agency (PEPA) recently admitted an application of CDA Project Director I-15 Ayaz Ahmed Khan for according its ‘Environmental Approval’. Interested and affected persons have been requested by the CDA to submit their comments for or against giving the said approval. All comments have to be submitted to the Deputy Director (Environmental Impact Assessment or Monitoring) within 15 days of the date of issuance of this notice – that is August 19.

The detailed documents of the Environmental Impact Assessment Report submitted by Ayaz Ahmed Khan are available for public viewing and use during office hours at Green Library & Documentation Centre of the Environmental Protection Agency and with Ayaz Ahmed Khan at the CDA office.
Meanwhile, a public hearing was held in the committee room of PEPA in Sector H-8 Islamabad at 10:30am today.
