Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has launched a PKR 2 billion project aimed at reforesting Margalla Hills, for environmental conservation and sustainable land management, as claimed by a news source on February 29.

As per the details, the initiative seeks to plant 10 million trees throughout the park area, emphasising the importance of preserving natural resources and enhancing ecological balance. Spanning 908 square kilometres, the Margalla Hills National Park in Islamabad faces challenges such as declining green cover and invasive species.

The project aims to enrich flora and fauna over five years. By restoring local species and implementing measures like constructing check dams and water ponds, the CDA aims to combat challenges while promoting tourism and climate resilience. The project underscores a collective commitment to sustainable development and environmental stewardship in the region, as reflected in the PC-1 signed by key stakeholders.
