A board meeting was held which was chaired by CDA Chairman Anwarul Haq. In the meeting, the board designated 48 and 72 hours for the endorsement of small residential and commercial building plans, respectively, with the payment of additional fees.
In the initial phase, residential plots measuring up to 60’x90’ will be sanctioned within 48 hours, while building plans for commercial plots measuring up to 500.00 sq-yards, with a covered area of less than 10,000 sq-feet, will be approved within 72 hours.
The Building Control Wing, through a summary, apprised the board that the existing timeline for approval stood at 21 days. Recognizing the demand for swift approvals, the need for a Facilitation Centre at the Building Control Directorate was emphasized.
Furthermore, applicants are now encouraged to directly approach the facilitation centre with all necessary drawings and documents for a streamlined three-day approval process. The board members agreed that this facility should be extended to the owners of larger plots in the next phase.

To access this expedited service, additional charges (in addition to normal scrutiny fees) were approved. For instance, owners of residential plots up to 356 square yards will incur an extra PKR 20,000 for approval through the facilitation centre. Those with plots larger than 356 square yards will deposit PKR 30,000, and owners of commercial buildings with a covered area of 5000 square feet will pay PKR 50,000. For plots with covered areas exceeding 5,000 to 10,000 square feet, a fee of PKR 75,000 for fast-track approval was endorsed.
