Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has decided to install security cameras in the federal capital’s parks for security purposes — a news source reported on October 16. The decision was taken in a meeting of CDA high officials at the authority’s headquarters on Thursday.

The decision is expected to help improve the security situation in the parks, ensure that the facilities remain safe, and that visitors are able to fully enjoy themselves. The CDA’s Park Directorate has been instructed to work on the matter in collaboration with the city’s police department.

The development authority has further decided to penalise people who litter on the major roads of the city. In this regard, the CDA officials will be assisted by the Safe City Project to identify the car owners who litter so that they may be fined.
