Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has initiated a drive against illegal housing schemes in Islamabad, a news source reported. Officials from the CDA Enforcement Wing started the operation and targeted 23 different premises during its first phase. CDA Planning Wing, Enforcement Directorate, Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration, Islamabad Police, and the other administrative departments concerned, also took part in the operation.

The CDA has continuously warned the public not to invest in housing societies that it has designated to be illegal. To prevent further sales, purchases, and constructions related to such projects, the civic body has launched a drive against them.
The CDA’s Design Vetting Committee (DVC) held a meeting, chaired by Member Planning & Design, at the CDA Headquarters. The meeting discussed the various design proposals for upcoming projects in the capital city.

CDA officers, including Director Architect-II, Director Building Control Section, and Director Urban Planning, also attended the meeting. Reputed architects Saman Mansoor and Sohail Abbassi, along with fire & safety expert Dawar Aftab, were also present in the session.
The DVC was presented with a number of design projects, from which some were approved by the committee.
