Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Monday announced to initiate a number of infrastructure and housing projects in the city, a news source reported. To this effect, the authority has commenced with the construction of three pedestrian bridges at different locations of the capital city.

CDA has also begun the civil work for the construction of these pedestrian bridges. The authority is constructing these crossings on the Kashmir Highway near Weekly Bazaar, Jinnah Avenue at Mehran Gate F-9 Park opposite to Sector G-9/2, and Faisal Avenue G-7/2/G-8 near PIMS Hospital.
According to the details revealed, the total construction cost of these bridges would be PKR 135 million. The aim of these Islamabad infrastructure projects is to curb accidents and maintain a smooth flow of traffic in the city. CDA has almost completed the construction and installation of another pedestrian bridge at the Constitution Avenue.

Sources revealed that the construction of the bridges was part of CDA’s comprehensive strategy for uplifting the infrastructure and developing neglected residential sectors in the capital.
