Islamabad: Under the directives of Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan, the capital administration executed a grand-scale operation wherein it retrieved a total of 20,000 kanals of state land from land grabbers, according to a news report published on January 24.

As per the latest reports submitted by the Deputy Commissioner’s office, the said anti-encroachment operation for state land in Islamabad was executed most of the city by the combined efforts of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and the Islamabad Capital Territory Administration (ICTA).
The said chunk of state land is located in sectors E-11, E-12, I-14, I-15, I-16, Khanna Pul, Tarnol, Expressway, Karal Chowk, Bhara Kahu, Bahria Enclave, Srinagar Highway, Mouza Sinyarai, Mohra Noor, right of way of Korang River, Kot Hathiyal, Phulgran, Shahpur, and Malata.

During the operation, the officials removed encroachments from a five-kilometre strip around the railway interchange. Moreover, a commission was also formed to verify land ownership claims of the local population.
