Islamabad: Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Amir Ali Ahmed on Monday (November 8), in collaboration with the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), plans to establish a new industrial estate in the federal capital, according to news sources.

The CDA chairman, while talking to the delegation from ICCI, stated that the dualisation of Islamabad Dry Port Road is expected to be inaugurated next Friday. The delegation, headed by ICCI President Mohammad Shakeel Munir, visited the CDA head office to discuss the problems experienced by the business community.
Sharing more details about the project, Chairman Ahmed disclosed that ICCI will prepare the proposal for the new industrial estate and hand it over to CDA to take it forward with the government departments concerned. Moreover, the CDA chairman mentioned that the road carpeting in the Kahuta Triangle Industrial Area has been started. He assured the ICCI delegation the remaining work will be resolved soon. He added that the process of bids opening for the development of parking plazas in markets has also been initiated.

The ICCI chief stated that the new industrial estate will create hundreds of jobs, attract new investment, and promote industrialisation. Talking about the issues faced in the lease renewal of industrial plots, ICCI stated that they will resolve it with the help of CDA. He went on to say that CDA should allow bifurcation of industrial plots to boost industrial activities.
