Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has decided to construct two youth hostels in the capital city to facilitate visiting students, news sources reported on February 7.

The decision was made in a meeting presided over by CDA Chairman Noor-ul-Amin Mengal here on Monday. The chairman has asked the planning and engineering wings of the CDA to identify sites for the proposed hostels on a priority basis.
Speaking to the media, Member Engineering Syed Munawar Shah said that the plan to build hostels has been approved in principle and that the construction work will kick off soon. Currently, the planning wing is looking for suitable sites to build these facilities, once sites are identified, the CDA will approve the PC-I of the project, followed by the initiation of the tendering process.

It is pertinent to mention that the CDA owns lodging and hostels in the city, but they are only used by employees of the civic agency. As per the CDA sources, there is another site that was previously used for lodging services in Sector G-7 but was later abandoned.
