Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Wednesday stated that it would hire consultants for two development projects in the city, a news source reported. Officials revealed that these projects included the construction of parking plazas and cleaning the nullah along with building rainwater facilities in the capital city.

With regard to these development projects in Islamabad, the CDA management has established a special unit called the ‘Urban Infrastructure Directorate’. The purpose of the unit is to liaison with the Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) and other organisations concerned, the CDA officials said.
Official sources revealed that there was a significant need for developing parking plazas in the city. They added that the consultant hired would be responsible for preparing a financial model for the projects as well as fulfilling other requirements within three months of employment.

Similarly, the CDA would also engage a consultant for the improvement of rainwater facilities in Islamabad. According to details revealed, rainwater in the city was going to waste but these facilities would help recharge the groundwater and use it for horticulture purposes.
