Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has provided the Islamabad Metropolitan Corporation (IMC) land in five locations to establish garbage shifting stations, a news source reported. The step was taken so that logistical problems related to moving waste across large distances can be minimised.

These new stations will have an intermediary role between local garbage collection and the final disposal stage. Local waste collection trucks will unload at these locations, after which the garbage will be loaded onto larger vehicles. It will then be transported for final disposal.
