Islamabad: Planning, Development, Reforms and Special Initiatives Minister Asad Umar has issued directions for the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to hire consultants and complete the revision of Islamabad master plan and Islamabad Bulk Water Supply projects until June 30, according to news sources.

A letter from the minister directs the CDA to finalise and submit an action plan by March 6. The final plan also needs to include the minister’s approved list of targets for the ongoing fiscal year. These include hiring and mobilization of international consultants to develop the projects.

To this effect, Umar also chaired a meeting with senior CDA officials to speed up the process of master plan revision. According to the authority, the hiring of consultants will begin once the draft Request for Proposal (RFP) gets vetted by the Planning Commission.
