Islamabad: The federal cabinet is set to release PKR 250 million for various development projects related to sanitation, environment and water to be carried out by the Capital Development Authority (CDA), a news source reported. The CDA will commence work on these projects as soon as the first tranche of PKR 50 million is released.

During a press conference held in the federal capital, Ministers of the National Assembly announced the construction of three pedestrian bridges in the city to facilitate the general public. They also said that horticulture, parks, water availability, and sanitation are top priorities for them. A new, durable sanitation system was also announced, which will make use of four transit stations. The ministers expect it to be developed within a few months.

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on CDA Ali Nawaz Awan said that hospitals in Islamabad will be upgraded. He also said that the government was paying extra attention to resolve sanitation, water, and garbage-related problems.
The CDA plans on cooperating with the Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad.
