Islamabad: Capital Development Authority ( CDA) Chairman Mohammad Usman on Wednesday (September 08) announced the construction of five new parking plazas in various commercial markets of the city, news sources reported. The construction of the projects will start in June next year.

According to sources, Chairman Usman said parking plazas are essential for the city. He stated that the authority has already directed the CDA Engineering Wing regarding the feasibility and construction of the proposed projects. According to the CDA plan, the five plazas will be built in the following locations:
- Three parking plazas in Blue Area, one near Savour Foods
- Two parking facilities in Sector F-10 Markaz
- One Parking plaza in Sector F-8 Markaz

According to the authority’s estimations, the project’s overall cost would be PKR 35.8 million, with a total parking capacity of 3,500 automobiles. The commissioner also stated that to encourage people to use parking facilities, the city administration will implement fines for street parking.
