Islamabad: Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa has shed light on the creation of a Disaster Management Authority (DMA) in the federal capital, as reported on June 26.

According to the details, the Deputy Commissioner of Islamabad will lead the DMA, with the Director General of Capital Emergency Services reporting directly to him. The primary purpose of this new authority is to effectively manage unforeseen situations in the city.

The DMA will be integrated with the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), overseeing all emergency service departments. Randhawa assured that the employment benefits and career progression for employees in these departments will remain unchanged.
