Under this initiative, multiple illegal housing schemes and their offices have been sealed. Reportedly, the authority is also reviewing various recommendations to discontinue the establishment of illegal housing schemes in the city.
As per the details shared, the city was divided into five zones under the ICT Zoning Regulation of 1992, and residential schemes could only be planned and developed in Sector E-11 of Zone I. Similarly, specific areas have been allocated in the city’s Zone II and V for the development of private housing societies.

However, in 2010, the authority amended the zoning regulations to allow planning and development for residential schemes in Zone IV, which was further split into sub-zones. Presently, the housing schemes’ planning and development are regulated by two CDA directorates. The housing department oversees Zones II and V, while the Regional Planning Directorate regulates Zone-IV.
