Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority Development Working Party (CDA-DWP) has approved two key projects for the capital city, including one commercial project (development of the Sector G-9 and F-9’s sections of Blue Area) and one residential project (Block A of Park Enclave-II), according to news sources.

The CDA-DWP decision came after its recently held meeting. These developmental projects are part of the authority’s attempt to realise the incumbent government’s vision of developing the Blue Area of Islamabad as per the international standards. The estimated cost of the project amounts to PKR 612.252 million.
As per the publication, the CDA has announced that it will complete the developmental work within 12 months and from its own resources. The scope of the project includes road infrastructure, drainage, culverts, water supply, sewerage installation, landscaping, laying down electrical lines and provision of telecommunications services.

Moreover, the stalled auction of the commercial plots in the Blue Area are also being planned to be held in the near future. The meeting was informed that the basic infrastructure development in the locale is required to facilitate the general public and bring the auction to the local and foreign investors’ attention.
Furthermore, after the development of the Park Enclave–I as a model residential project in Zone – IV of the capital, the CDA-DWP also approved the development of Block-A of Park Enclave-II. The authority plans to construct the project within two years with an estimated budget of PKR 1.628 billion. The scope of the project will include construction of boundary walls, security pickets and gatehouse, roads, storm drains, footpaths, nullah protection system, sewerage system, culverts, water supply and rainwater storage, sanitation, landscaping, mechanical and irrigation works, and public buildings.
