Islamabad: Minister for Planning, Development, Reforms and Special Initiatives Asad Umar has issued directions for the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to resubmit the PC-I’s for the 11th and 12th Avenue Interchanges on Kashmir Highway – to obtain funding from the upcoming Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP), according to news sources.

In meeting to review progress of the ongoing developmental projects in Islamabad, the minister was told about outcomes of another meeting in which the Central Development Working Party (CDWP) dropped the project for the development of interchanges on Kashmir Highways’ intersection with 7th, 10th, 11th and 12th Avenues from PSDP funding in the new fiscal year.

Umar directed the CDA to resubmit the PC-Is for 11th and 12th Avenue interchanges to the Ministry of Interior for the coming CDWP meeting. It was also decided that that CDA will construct the stalled project of interchange on Kashmir Highway-7th Avenue Intersection with its own resources.
The meeting further discussed the construction of the 10th Avenue (the section between I.J. Principal Road and Margalla Road) which is estimated to cost PKR 11 billion.
Furthermore, Minister Umar was also briefed about the Ghazi Barotha project, that the advertisements to hire a consultant for the feasibility study to the project have been published. In response, Minister Umar asked preparation of an urgent PC-I of the project to have it timely included in the 2020-21 PSDP.
