Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Monday revealed that it would introduce a system for the real-time monitoring of development projects in the city, a news source reported. To this effect, the authority said that in the wake of the pandemic and the country’s consequent focus on maintaining social distancing, this project management system would allow its officials to monitor ongoing developments in real time.

CDA officials stated that via the new system, the administration would monitor all projects and ensure their timely completion. They added that the system’s development comes following CDA Chairman Aamer Ali Ahmed’s directives for creating a strong monitoring mechanism for the capital city’s projects.
The officials revealed that as part of the new real-time project monitoring system, CDA would install cameras at all development sites. These would connect to the conference room at the CDA Headquarters – providing a live stream of the ongoing developments round the clock. The system would also generate real-time work progress data, they added.

Moreover, CDA has initially installed cameras at the sites of the Sector G-7/G-8 underpass and Burma Bridge. Officials added that they would gradually extend the system to other projects including the Capital Hospital and Park Enclave.
CDA will also develop a mobile application to complement the real-time project monitoring system. This application will make it easier for the officials concerned to access the live streams.
