Islamabad: The Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) President Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari has asked the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to focus on the development of the Blue Area to facilitate trade activities and boost economic growth, a news source reported on July 29.

ICCI President highlighting the importance of Blue Area — Islamabad’s largest commercial centre stated that its development will play a pivotal role in driving the economy forward. During the meeting, it was informed that parking is a major issue in the Blue Area, and to alleviate this problem, the ICCI President proposed allowing parking on the green area of Fazal Haq Road until the construction of the parking plaza is completed.
Blue Area Traders Welfare Association President Raja Hassan Akhtar underscored crucial issues affecting traders in the market. He pointed out the lack of parking facilities, sewerage systems, and non-functional streetlights as the main challenges that urgently need CDA’s attention. Akhtar also advocated the establishment of a flower market in the Blue Area and emphasized the importance of tree pruning.

The traders of the Blue Area expressed their unwavering support for ICCI and pledged to cooperate fully with the ICCI in resolving their issues.
