Ten illegal structures constructed in the CDA acquired lands, were razed down, during a crackdown on illegally constructed Khatchi Abadis in sector H-9. This operation against these settlements did not go down easy as expected, as at least five officials of Enforcement Directorate (CDA) have been seriously injured.
The illegal occupants, at the time of crackdown threw stones at the CDA officials. The pelted down, injured officials were taken to hospital later. The operation to free the land from illegal occupants was to be carried out without any discrimination or any special leverage given to them. It was conducted in coordination with district administration and concerned police station.
The encroachments portrayed an ugly picture of lawlessness and marred the landscape. Chairman CDA stated that operations will be conducted to raze these structures without any concession. Warning will be issued to illegal occupants; in case of lack of complying with it the authority will take severe measures against them.
More light was shed on this crack down on the Katchi Abadi by the Chairman CDA, from Member Estate CDA as she told that the occupants, evacuated form Green Belt of Sector G-7 and Chak Shazad areas were temporarily settled in Sector H-9, in collaboration with ICT and administration from WASA.
More than just illegally occupation of CDA owned land, several complaints were received that this land was sold onwards to other people. It had been noticed that people from different parts of the country have gradually settled illegally and not only constructed houses but were also involved in unauthorized sales and purchase of houses and land in the area.
In the meanwhile a complaint was filed against the occupants for attacking CDA officials and injuring them.
