Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has expedited its crackdown against the developments found to have been constructed in violation of its building by-laws framework; having recently conducted an anti-encroachment operation in the Sector G-9 Markaz area which resulted in the sealing of 14 shops, according to news sources.
This operation was headed by the Building Control Directorate, several concerned departments of the CDA, the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Administration, and a number of police officials.

As per reports, the department sealed a plaza on plot 9 which had officially been allotted for the construction of a clinic facility but was being used by the landowner for other commercial purposes. The CDA team sealed a total of 14 shops in the structure.

Similarly, several shops were also sealed in a plaza developed on plot 21-B; which had originally been allotted for the construction of a hotel but was being used for other (non-conforming) purposes.
