Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Friday (July 23) awarded a contract for the development work in Sector I-15/2, news sources reported. The PKR 1.4 billion worth project will be completed in 18 months.

According to a CDA press release, machinery for the project has already been mobilized to the site, while formal construction will begin at the end of the monsoon season. According to the contract, the contractor firm will build a drainage system, a sewage network, streets, street lights, culverts, and other residential facilities. It was also stated that CDA had previously completed work in three other sub-sectors of Sector 15, with only Sector I-15/2 still incomplete.

Furthermore, upon the completion of development work, the CDA will issue possession letters to plot owners who will be permitted to build houses. It is worth mentioning that the construction of Sector I-15 has been delayed for many years due to administrative constraints. However, the authority has recently begun to develop several stalled sectors throughout Islamabad.
