Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) conducted 162 anti-encroachment operations in Islamabad during August, according to a press release. The operations were conducted against illegal construction and encroachment in the city.
According to details, the CDA demolished 40 rooms, 16 boundary walls, 21 shops, 45 jhuggis, many food stalls, building material scrap depots, barber setups on footpaths, and other roadside encroachments. In addition to that, the authority confiscated five vehicles for selling goods.
The press release reads that CDA also confiscated 1,857 encroachment items and shifted them to their store in F-9 Park. The CDA Chairman, who is also Islamabad Mayor, Sheikh Anser Aziz instructed the concerned CDA department to gear up the anti-encroachment drive further, to ensure that the natural grace of the city is restored.
