Islamabad: Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Captain (retired) Muhammad Usman on Wednesday (September 07) announced that all ongoing development projects in the capital city will be completed within the set deadlines, news sources reported.

He stated this at an informal meeting with the newsmen and briefed them on the ongoing developments. He said that the administration has prioritised the I J Principal Road, Islamabad Expressway, and the expansion of Margalla Avenue for completion and opening to traffic in the coming months. He added that the project deadlines are tight, but the administration and contractors are working around the clock to complete them on time. He also highlighted that the authority is now working on the construction of five new parking plazas in the city to address parking issues in all commercial areas. Furthermore, he highlighted that the authority is in talks with the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) for establishing a new landfill site that will serve the city’s demands for the next 30 years.

It is vital to note that the CDA is collaborating with numerous contractors to complete city road infrastructure projects. These projects have been significantly delayed owing to contractor issues and a lack of finances. However, the federal government has directed the CDA to complete the projects before the end of the year to make the commute easier.
