Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has formed a committee for scrutinising housing projects and societies constructed within the limits of the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT), a news source reported. The aim of this committee is to ensure the implementation of approved building plans within the housing projects.
In this regard, CDA issued a statement on Wednesday. It said that the Master Plan Director would head the committee. Also, the committee will comprise the CDA Planning & Evaluation Director, Master Plan Deputy Director, and a representative of the Cooperative Housing Department as its members.

The four-member committee will have the authority to conduct inspection of various housing societies in the city. The members will examine the layout plans, compare the implementation of the plans on ground, and examine the provisions and utilisation of areas reserved for civic amenities.
Additionally, the committee will be tasked with inspecting different commercial buildings within these housing societies. The members will scrutinise incidents of violation in building by-laws and zoning regulations.

Moreover, the committee will examine if the societies have secured the amenity plots such as parks, schools, playgrounds, graveyards, and hospital, and not converted these into residential or commercial plots.
The committee will also inspect for the availability of sewerage treatment plants within the housing schemes.

Meanwhile, CDA has also initiated a campaign against violators of building by-laws and zoning regulations in the city. The civic body revealed that within the first two days of the drive, it has sealed 64 commercial buildings.
